I sent an e-mail to Sean Hannity last night challenging Fox News to hold a debate between Mike Huckabee and John McCain. I let him know how unfair I thought it was for the network who claims to be "fair and balanced" to declare the race for the nomination "over" before everyone has had a chance to vote. Just like they did in Florida during the Bush/Gore election. If the American people flood their lines of communication with requests for a debate, Mike Huckabee can present his views in contrast to John McCain and let the people decide, not Karl Rove!
In case you missed it, This is the exact answer that Karl Rove gave to Chris Wallace during the Potomac Primary results when asked if John McCain should take on Huckabee or continue to ignore him: Karl Rove's answer, and I quote, "No, don't take on Huckabee. Realize that a lot of the Huckabee vote is people working out their last bit of angst about McCain. It's to send him a signal to pay attention to us. The best thing for John McCain to do is to focus on the democrats and begin to lay out the sharp differences between them and him on the issues that will both draw independent voters and motivate the republican voters, and he can do that. He can be talking about National Security issues and spending and taxes and other issues that he's comfortable with and be doing so in states where it has an impact. He doesn't need to engage Huckabee. If he engages Huckabee, he raises Huckabee. He gives Huckabee the attention that Huckabee needs and desires in order to move from being a nuisance to being a serious contender." If we all work together, we have a chance to make something happen! Contact Fox News with me! Thanks Shauna Schwartz |
