For Such a Time as This: The Prophetic, Prayer, and the Presidential election

We are going to be electing the 44th president of the United States this year in 2008. I believe that this election is perhaps the most critical in our history since the election of Abraham Lincoln.

44 is the biblical number of judgment of the nations and 2008 has been prophesied as the year of radically new beginnings. Judgment can be falling under the anger of God but I believe it can also be a ?setting things right.? I believe the radical new beginnings for our nation can lead to its destruction or to its revival. The choice belongs largely to us, who are Christians, who must choose this election ?life or death.? Who knows it might not just be the life of an unborn child or human embryo but your own or someone you love at stake in this election?

I believe it is not an accident that Governor Huckabee was the 44th governor of Arkansas and as a nation we are also electing our 44th president. Arkansas was posed for judgment it seems when he tool office. This is what Governor Huckabee faced: the prior Governor was convicted of corruption under the Clinton whitewater scandal, a 250 million deficit, Arkansas was near the very last of states in education, and a democratically controlled legislature that was supportive by and large of abortion in all its stages. Instead, in God?s mercy, He raised up Huckabee being the first republican governor elected in Arkansas since reconstruction to ?set things right.? When Governor Huckabee left office things had radically changed for the better. The government was being run with integrity, the state now had a 850 million dollar surplus, Arkansas now led as 2nd in the nation in education, and Arkansas passed more pro-life legislation than perhaps any other state. This is just a few of the accomplishments. Time Magazine named him as one of the top 5 governors in the country.

I also do not believe it was an accident that he was born and raised in Hope, Arkansas. The same small town as Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton was born in Hope but at age 8 he moved to Hot Springs where he was raised. The two, in fact, had the same kindergarten teacher. Perhaps, it was she who planted in both of them a seed for raising hope. The hope Bill Clinton offered our nation I believe was a false or counterfeit hope. The hope being offered by Governor Huckabee I believe is deeply rooted in Truth.

God, I believe, has raised up Mike Huckabee for such a time as this. Wake up church in America!

Do you think it was chance that tornados and destruction were raging in Arkansas, TN, and Alabama while the crucial votes were being counted in these Southern states the night of Super Tuesday? I believe it was a reflection of the spiritual warfare that was going on in the heavenlies.

There was a prophetic word given that our next president would be the ?five loaves and 2 fishes candidate.? Where our eyes blinded to him because he ?didn?t look presidential enough?? Remember another president that was ridiculed for his country awkward appearance? Abraham Lincoln. God used that candidate to end slavery and now in our time I believe he can use Mike Huckabee to end abortion.

Truly, Mike Huckabee has shown himself to be the candidate for whom God has miraculously multiplied the ?five loaves and 2 fishes? Outspent in many states 20 to 1, ridiculed and discounted by the media, the republican establishment, and the political pundits and he is still standing and moving forward.

The political pundits are saying it is impossible but we know with God all things are possible. If Governor Huckabee can continue to win ?red? states like Kansas and the much needed Virginia and Texas to keep McCain from getting the needed 1191 delegates we can take this thing to a brokered convention. There, Mike can become the republican nominee just like Abraham Lincoln did who became the Republican nominee after the third ballot at a brokered convention.

For me, just today I have decided that I stand with Dr. Dobson who endorsed Governor Huckabee, I cannot vote for McCain. McCain supports embryonic stem cell research and I cannot place my vote in any way for death.

God has raised up for America a man from a place called Hope to offer it citizens Hope and Life. I hope you will be able to tell your children and grandchildren and perhaps one day your Maker that you choose Hope and Life when it was offered to you.
