Dear friends at GOPUSA,
I am very UN-moved to help unite the party behind the "presumptive nominee", Sen. McCain. I am disgusted with the GOP leadership's tactics all during this deplorable sham of a primary campaign. Somehow it was decided from the start not to allow Mike Huckabee a fighting chance. He was ganged up on daily all over talk radio with an eerily unified voice that smacked of repeated talking points ad nauseam. You folks really must think Huckabee supporters are all country bumpkins - that's what evangelicals are to you, "agents of intolerance" to quote y our pr ecious nominee - and you thought we wouldn't catch on. Well, sir we have caught on, and we will have our say in this party, or we will have it somewhere else. You first wanted Romney, and were surprised when we didn't buy his new-found conservative, pro-life, pro-marriage positions, especially when what he really did for gay marriage and abortion in MA is readily available for anyone to look up and read about. Now you want us to believe that a member of the infamous Gang of 14, who co-sponsored the disastrous, unconstitutional, McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform, and the famous amnesty bill, is a "real conservative" too! Excuse me? Are we living on the same planet??? I am furious at what has been done to our best chance at retaining the White House: Mike Huckabee, an honest, true conservative, with a real vision for this country, and a way of articulating it that rivals even the Great Communicator himself. All this nonsense I keep hearing about his being a close t liberal, or too weak on foreign policy, or having too many negatives from his time serving as Governor of Arkansas. All these horrible lies! They will catch up with you. Meanwhile you gloss over your chosen anointed's terrible history, like nothing ever was! All we know is that he is a POW hero. What did his poor wife think of her "hero" when he came home, and finding her not as beautiful since her accident, got himself another wife? Do you think he will support the sanctity of marriage? I think your days of fooling us are over. You really don't care about family, marriage, or innocent life in the womb, the poor, the Terri Sciavo's, or any of it. All you care about is retaining your own sphere of power. Well, that sphere is shrinking. You hear that hissing sound? It's the hot air seeping out of your balloon. Yes, a backlash is coming. A lashing you all deserve. And with that, just maybe we will get the real Presidential candidate nominated - not the one with the raspy voice who is about as inspiring as listening to grandpa's old war stories for the hundredth time. No. That man will be crushed by the charisma of an Obama who speaks of "hope" to the American people, or the war machine of a Clinton. Only one man has what it takes to win in November. He's the one who doesn't just talk hope. He is from Hope, and he gave hope already to many in his state. Talk to them, and learn what they have to say! He's the man who's been inspiring all those young voters to create awesome web sites, such as Huck's Army, and all ages to make thousands of phone calls for his campaign, because we all feel like it's our campaign, too. He's the one who's gotten whole families to travel at their own expense to wave signs for him. He's the one who's raised an amazing amount of money considering all that you, the Establishment, have thrown at him. And even though his war chest was tiny compared to his competitors', he sure can stretch a dollar! That should qu alify him right there as the most conservative! Most importantly, he's the only one, besides Obama whose effect on an audience is positively electric, and better than Obama, he's the only one with real substance to what he says, and real, re-elected, executive experience to back it up. You folks in D.C. must have some kind of thick cloud of stupor hanging over your heads. What made you think you could get away with choosing our nominee for us - especially such a poor choice?! Friends, I am heartbroken over this. I feel betrayed by my own party, and I will be writing Mike Huckabee in come November, if he is not the nominee. I have signed Dr. Dobson's pledge. Thanks but no thanks, Jackie Picken |
