This is the big day! Since Nevada has scheduled the fourth earliest caucus/primary in the nation, all eyes will be on our state. Remember, this will be your only chance to vote for your favorite presidential candidate until the General Election in November. Get out there and support Governor Huckabee!
If you registered as a Republican before December 19th, 2007, then you should have received a mailing with all the information for your precinct's caucus. You can also check out the following link for more information on the caucus process ... http://www.nvgopcaucu...
Happy caucus-ing!
UPDATE:
So, tomorrow is the big day! I just want to encourage each of you to participate in your precinct's caucus and support Governor Huckabee. Here are three ways to do just that...
1.) Hand-out Huckabee literature to fellow caucus-goers. Since this is a caucus and not a primary, campaigning is allowed both inside and outside the building. (I double-checked with the Nevada Republican Party on this just to make sure.) Our Meetup will have representatives stationed outside the Elko, Spring Creek and Wells caucus locations distributing flyers, so you can pick-up some literature for your precinct from us. (I will be canvassing all the Elko precincts at EHS. Not only will I be carrying flyers, but I'll also have "Muffins for Mike," so stop by and enjoy some goodies.)
2.) Run as a pro-Huckabee delegate. One of the first orders of business at the caucus will be the election of delegates to the county convention (which will be held on March 5th). The more Huckabee supporters we can get elected on Saturday, the more support the Governor will have at the county level, and eventually the state and national conventions. If you really don't want to serve as a delegate, then elect others who support Mike Huckabee. Ask potential delegates about their pick for president before you vote for them.
3.) Speak-up for Mike Huckabee. The last item on the agenda at the caucus will be the Presidential Preference Poll. Before it is taken, a representative for each candidate will be called upon to speak for a few minutes. Be that representative. Simply tell your neighbors why you like Mike, and why he deserves their vote. I encourage you to visit mikehuckabee.com to refresh your memory on the Governor's positions and policies so that you can answer any questions. Don't let our candidate go without a voice. And, of course, vote for him yourself in the poll.
So, that's it. The whole process is only supposed to take about 45 minutes. And remember, it will be your only chance to directly vote for your top choice for President of the United States. This is a crucial time for the Huckabee campaign, and Mike needs all the momentum he can get. While he works hard in South Carolina, let's surprise him with a win in the Silver State!
See you at the caucus!
