Hello everyone,
Although last night was a painful one, with lots of tears and broken hearts... today is a new day. The campaign in Texas was often compared to the battle of the Alamo. Governor Huckabee spoke about this last night in his concession speech. This battle marked Texas history and really our nations history because it was "a heroic struggle against impossible odds." Those that fought in the battle gave everything they had for the cause they believed in. The important thing I want you all to remember is that although the battle was lost at the Alamo and most everyone lost their lives... the Texas revolutionaries went on to win the war! This campaign taught me how to stand up and fight for what I believed in. I want to encourage everyone to stay involved in the political process! Although we didn't get the results we wanted last night we must not "weary in well doing." We must continue to stand for all the things that are important to us: Faith, Family, and Freedom...and we must continue to stand in the gap, doing all we can for our family, our friends and for our nation. If anything, this experience has taught all of us that we cannot sit back and let others determine our future or the future of our children. We have a lot of work still ahead of us. We have an election looming around the corner. I hope that you will all choose to follow the directions of the man we all chose to lead us...Governor Huckabee...although our hearts are aching...we have to do the right thing. I want to send out an enormous heartfelt thanks to all of you that worked tirelessly and gave of your time, money, and energy to this worthy cause. Let's make a decision to keep that momentum going by not letting all of that effort fall by the wayside..but as Governor Huckabee suggests..."standing up, dusting off and being ready to answer the bell for the next time." Look for opportunities to support other godly leaders at all levels of government and make sure that this loss does not discourage us from letting our voices be heard in the future. Once again, I want to express my thanks to all of you. I will be posting some information later about "what's next." We may have lost this battle but together all of us, working as a T.E.A.M. , will win this war! Carol Kelly P.S. Our Prayer for Governor Huckabee: "The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives." Psalms 37:23 |

I have to admit I became choked up as I read the "Thank You" letter sent out from the official Mike Huckabee website. You could feel his heart felt appreciation for all his supporters.
Although a little worn out from being at a polling location and passing out fliers much of the day on Tuesday, yesterday, I spent a little time in the morning going out and picking up the signs I put up at a few of the polling locations and along 2920, 249, Louetta and Cypresswood Drive ... It's amazing, I felt a renewed strength ... I felt proud to be apart of the Mike Huckabee for President effort. I will be waiting and watching to see were his next steps will lead him. |
